Wanted: Dead and Alive is a 2008 Bollywood film starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia in lead roles.The movie is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster called “Pokhiri”. Other than Salman and Ayesha, Om Puri, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sayaji Shinde will be sharing screen space. The crew has already left for Bangkok for the shooting of two song sequences. The choreography department of this movie has been taken over by dancer, actor and choreographer Prabhu Deva and his brother Raju Sunderam.


The music of the movie is being handled by Sajid-Wajid who have earlier worked on the music of movies such as “Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya” “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, “Tere Naam” (along with Himesh Reshammiya) etc.

Producer Boney Kapoor had bought the remake rights and signed on Prabhu Deva for Director and Choreographer. Originally, Asin was slated to reprise her female lead from the Tamil version but due to her dates booked for Kamal’s Dasavatharam and Aamir Khan’s Ghajini, she dropped out the project. Finally, Boney Kapoor signed on Ayesha Takia for female lead as he was applauded by her performance in Dor.

Ayesha Takia is the concluding search result to Boney Kapoor’s relentless quest for heroine to star opposite Salman Khan. Boney considered Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Jiah Khan (Her remarks recently against Katrina Kaif particularly irked Salman and poor Boney couldn’t agree less with Salman’s opinion!), but Ayesha was finally taken for the role in Wanted Dead and Alive
