Is Anthony D’Souza’s Next Naam Hain Boss Delayed?

Director Anthony D’Souza’s last film, also his directorial debut, was Blue. The film, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Zayed Khan, was a dud at the box office. But this hasn’t deterred D’Souza from wielding the megaphone again.
According to the grapevine, the director was planning a sequel to Blue and another 3D film about aliens featuring Akshay Kumar. However, later he started working on an altogether different project, a remake of Tamil film Pokkiri Raja, which featured Mammooty in the lead. The Hindi version has been titled Naam Hain Boss, where Akshay Kumar will step into Mammooty’s shoes.
Our source says, “They were to start shooting in the early second half of this year but now they intend to start shooting by the end of this year as Akshay is busy with his other film commitments. Almost everything is finalised except the female lead.”
However, D’Souza has a different story to narrate. “It’s nothing but a rumour. I’m still working on my script and it will take some time to lock the film. I will talk about my film only once I lock the script,” says he.
Interestingly, the director visited the US last year to learn the ropes of 3D filmmaking. Asked about this, he remarked, “Yes, I went to US to learn 3D filmmaking from the famous Hollywood cinematographer Mitchell Amundsen. It’s important to learn new techniques of filmmaking. And, today, 3D is the new technology and most people are looking forward to it. So I decided to learn it from the best in the business. That’s it.”
