Hrithik plays Rama in Ramayana
Sanjay Khan, producer of the popular television serial The Sword of Tipu Sultan will now produce a film called The Legend of Rama, Mumbai Mirror reports. And playing Lord Rama will be his son-in-law Hrithik Roshan.
Confirming the news, Zayed Khan told Mumbai Mirror, “My father is indeed making the Ramayan. It’s called The Legend of Rama. He has been planning this film for the last three years and looking for (someone) perfect to play Rama. And who but Hrithik could be the perfect choice for the role?”
It seems Amitabh Bachchan had agreed to play the role of Rama’s father Dashratha about two years ago. Zayed, of course, will play the younger brother Laxman.
The paper reports that Sanjay Khan and Fattukh Dhondy and Zayed Khan have co-scripted the film and that the actors are yet to be cast in the roles of Sita and Ravana.
